Teeth Grinding and Dental Work Abroad: Night Guards, Veneers and Implant Risks

BRUXISM & RESTORATIONS

Teeth grinding and clenching can chip bonding, fracture ceramics, overload implants and make a new bite uncomfortable. Assess it before cosmetic or implant treatment.

Signs to discuss

  • worn or flattened teeth;
  • morning jaw fatigue;
  • fractured fillings or ceramics;
  • night grinding reports;
  • muscle tenderness.

Why it matters abroad

If many biting surfaces are redesigned rapidly without assessing grinding, expensive restorations may fail early.

Night guards

A custom guard may protect restorations but does not cure every cause. Confirm when it will be fitted, adjusted and replaced.

Veneers, crowns and implants

Material strength alone does not solve overload. Design, thickness, bonding, implant position and bite distribution matter.

Questions before booking

  • How was grinding assessed?
  • Will the bite be recorded?
  • Is a temporary trial planned?
  • Is a guard included?
  • Who adjusts the bite at home?
