A clear guide to full-arch implant treatment often marketed as All-on-4, including temporary teeth, healing, suitability and long-term maintenance.
“All-on-4” is commonly used to describe a full arch of replacement teeth supported by four implants. Similar treatments may use a different number or position of implants. The name alone does not tell you whether the design is appropriate for your mouth.
Is it the same as having four replacement teeth?
No. The implants act as supports for a connected full-arch restoration. The teeth may be temporary during healing and replaced or adjusted later. Ask whether the advertised package includes both temporary and final teeth.
Can everyone have it?
Suitability depends on health, bone quantity and quality, gum condition, bite, smoking, cleaning ability and the condition of any remaining teeth. Scans and a clinical examination are normally important. A plan based only on photographs is provisional.
Are the teeth fitted immediately?
Some patients receive a temporary fixed restoration soon after surgery, often described as immediate loading. This does not mean healing is complete. Diet restrictions, reviews and later restorative stages may still be required.
What are the limitations?

Do not agree to remove restorable teeth merely because a fixed package is easier to advertise. Consider an independent opinion before full-arch irreversible treatment.
