Veneers abroad can cost substantially less than treatment at home, but the advertised “per tooth” figure is rarely the whole bill. The material, amount of enamel preparation, temporary teeth, scans, accommodation, flights and future repairs all affect the true cost.

These ranges make comparison easier, but they do not prove that one clinic, country or material is suitable for you. Ask every clinic to identify the brand and material in writing.
What determines the price?
The biggest variables are the number of teeth, material, laboratory quality, dentist’s experience, complexity of the bite and whether old dental work must be removed. A quote may also change after X-rays or an in-person examination reveal decay, gum disease, grinding or insufficient enamel.
Porcelain, E-Max, zirconia and composite
“Porcelain” is a broad label. Lithium-disilicate ceramics such as E-Max can produce highly natural results in suitable cases. Zirconia is strong but may be more opaque and is often used for crowns; a clinic advertising “zirconium veneers” should explain whether it actually means full crowns. Composite is applied directly and is usually cheaper and repairable, but tends to stain and wear sooner.
Package prices: what should be included?
A package might include consultation, X-rays, scans, temporary teeth, laboratory work, hotel transfers or accommodation. Flights, travel insurance, medicines, companion costs, meals, extractions, root canals and bite guards may be excluded. Never compare a package headline with a fully itemised domestic quote.
Example: ten porcelain veneers abroad
At £180–£500 per tooth, the dental component may be roughly £1,800–£5,000. Add travel, accommodation and contingency money. A home-country quote could be considerably higher, but savings narrow if follow-up trips or local repairs are required.

Hidden costs people overlook
- consultations, panoramic X-rays or 3D scans;
- temporary restorations and laboratory upgrades;
- gum treatment, fillings or root canals discovered after arrival;
- night guards for grinding;
- extra hotel nights if swelling or adjustments delay travel;
- return trips for repairs or replacements;
- local dentist fees when the original clinic cannot provide aftercare.
Will the cheapest option cost more later?
It can. Veneers are not lifetime products. Chipping, debonding, decay at the margins and gum changes can require maintenance or replacement. Aggressive tooth reduction may make future treatment more complicated. A lower initial price is only valuable if the treatment is conservative, appropriate and supported by meaningful aftercare.
How to compare two written quotes
- Confirm whether each restoration is a veneer, crown or composite bonding.
- List the material and manufacturer, not just “premium porcelain.”
- Compare how much healthy tooth tissue will be removed.
- Check who performs the work and where the laboratory is located.
- Ask what the guarantee covers, who pays travel costs and how disputes are handled.
- Include travel, time off work, insurance and a repair contingency.
How much discomfort is normal?
Preparation may require local anaesthetic. Mild sensitivity and gum tenderness can occur afterwards, but intense or worsening pain is not something to ignore. Ask whether treatment is additive, minimally prepared or involves substantial reduction, and contact the clinic promptly if the bite feels high or symptoms worsen.

Questions to ask before paying
- Can I see the proposed tooth reduction before treatment?
- Why are veneers preferable to whitening, orthodontics or bonding in my case?
- Are the quoted restorations veneers or crowns?
- How many visits and temporary stages are required?
- Who provides urgent and long-term aftercare once I return home?
